Ronald James Grant, a long time resident of Irving, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 1, 2025. Ronald or as most knew him, Ronnie, was born October 22, 1934 in Tulsa, OK. His family moved to Dallas when he was 4 years old and ran numerous businesses including a hotel which Ronnie worked at along with several other jobs growing up.
Ronnie Graduated from North Dallas High School, attended University of Texas at Arlington and served in the Texas Air National Guard. He spent his working years in the insurance industry as an accountant earning his membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors. He was a passionate Democrat and served as a District Polling Judge for several years.
He met the love of his life, Christine Boylson in the summer of 1965 at a party at Bachman Lake hosted by the singles group in the Catholic Church. It was definitely love at first sight! They were married six months later on October 9, 1965 and lived the next 59 and half years of their life together in Irving, TX. He was an amazing Father and he and Christine raised their four children in Irving attending countless sporting events, the symphony, concerts and plays and loved going to see the latest movies at the theater.
He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, completing the Leadership Training Program along with the St. George Emblem in recognition of outstanding service to the spiritual development of Catholic Youth in the Boy Scouts program. He was incredibly proud to work with his two older sons to help them achieve Eagle Scout. He was also an avid sports fan and loved his Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners. He had such a great time coaching his youngest son in basketball and attending all of
his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting, concerts and other events to show his love and support.
He is survived by his wife Christine, daughter Michelle Hoglan, husband Brett; son Ronald Grant Jr.; son John Grant, wife Kirsten; son Christian Grant, wife Kellie and 6 Grandchildren. He was Uncle Ronnie to multiple nieces and nephews all of whom he loved and truly enjoyed spending time with. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Grant and sister Katherine Leach.
The Rosary will be held Sunday April 13, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220 and then will welcome family and friends to a Celebration of Life on Saturday May 17, 2025 from 3pm to 6pm at The Glory House 109 S. Main Street, Irving TX 75060.
