Ronald graduated from Muskogee High School in 1974 and entered the United States Army a day after his 18th birthday. After serving his 3 years in the United States Army he went to work for the VA Administration for 3 years. He joined the United States Postal Service in June of 1980 as a Part-Time Flexible (PTF) Letter Carrier and began his career at Preston Station. Ronald worked and was successful in becoming a Full-Time Letter Carrier. He worked at several Dallas City Stations including South Oak Cliff (now formerly known as Caesar Clark Station). Ronald excelled to become an Acting Supervisor (204-B) and through his leadership abilities was promoted to Supervisor. One of the Dallas City Stations that he performed as Supervisor was the Pleasant Grove Station under the leadership of Station Manager Harold Anderson. He knew everyone on his route, and everyone knew and loved him. Ronald retired from the United States Postal Service in December of 2011.
Ronald’s love for fishing for crappies didn’t go unnoticed. He would be there all day and all-night listening to his music (and we ALL know he LOVED his music). He had so many CD’s and albums that he knew if one was missing. He was also big on family, whether near or far he LOVED everybody!
Ronald is preceded in death by his father- Marcus Grant, Mother- Anna Lorene Lee, Sisters- Carolene Thomas and Marcia LaRue, Grandmother- Sophia Barnett, Grandfather- Jesse Vann Sr., Brothers- Leo James Lee, Marcus Grant, Jr., Paul Grant, and Dwayne Grant.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 28 years Cassandra Grant, children- Beverly Brown, Stephanie Davis, Sharhonda Davis, LaDena McCoy, Ryan Grant, Jarreau Grant, Kandice Briquelle Anthony, Andre Wilson, and Ronald C. Grant. 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Seven sisters- Ollivette Cooper, Annette Carlis, Angela Lee, Sonya Carter, Frieda Derrick, LaVersa Murray, and Idella Grant, Six brothers- Michael Lee, Brian Lee, Dwight Lee, Alonzo Grant, Alphonso Grant, and Terrell Grant. He leaves his memories to a host of special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023, at his home in Desoto, Texas. His life was full of love and character.
