Romana Juarez Hernández, a loving wife and mother, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Ascencion Juarez; sisters Francisca, Mari, Carmen and Manuela. Roma is survived by her loving husband, Aurelio C. Hernández; her children Veronica Zamora (Felix), Alejandra Rodriguez, Aurelio Hernández (Graciela), Juan Hernández (Margie), Monica Kenemuth (Dennis) and Luis Hernández (Patricia); sisters Teresa, Juani and Chuti; brothers Tino and Pedro; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Roma was born on August 9, 1928 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico. A blind date in 1954 quickly led to a marriage proposal and 58 glorious years of marriage to Aurelio. The family settled in Dallas, Texas in June 1958. She had many roles in her life (wife, mother, sister, “madrina” (godmother), aunt, and confidant) but the most cherished was that of “abuelita” to her nine grandchildren (Andrea, Cristy, Marcos, Alejandro, Erica, Louie, Esmi, Rome and Julian) and four great-grandchildren (Mila, Nathan, Natalie and Nicholas). Roma was a parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church. The family will receive friends between 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Calvary Hill North Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow after Mass.
