Roger Neal Layne was born October 13th, 1951 in Dallas Texas to loving parents Mary & Gerald Layne. He passed away on February 13th, 2022 in Clearwater, FL. Roger was 70 years old. He is preceded in death by his Mother & Father - Mary (Wells) Layne & Gerald Layne, his sisters - Nancy Layne and Patti Bales.
Roger worked for many years for the Hunt Family, Coca-Cola and Macy’s.
He is survived by his husband (Bill Merithew), two daughters (Shelley Valentine and Jenifer Bush), and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his two nephews (Kevin Bales and Keith Bales) and many friends around the country and several countries.
Roger was a loving adventurous soul who loved to travel. No matter what or when, Roger was ready to travel. Roger loved telling a good story about his life, work and adventures. Roger loved to bake. He was one of the best bakers.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made in Roger's name to Plymouth Park United Methodist Church for their Emergency Food Pantry and Many Helping Hands
