Robert M. Unsell

Robert "Bob" Unsell, 77, passed away on September 3, 2013 in his home town of Dallas, Texas. Bob was born in 1935 and was a life-long resident of Oak Cliff. He graduated from Sunset High School in 1953 and received a BBA degree from Southern Methodist University in 1956. He was married to Gerry Hancock Unsell for over 57 years.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gerry; his son, William Michael "Mike" Unsell; daughter, Terri Unsell Loeffler and husband Michael and grandchildren Steven Michael Unsell, Audrey Glynn Loeffler, and Kathryn Elise Loeffler.

Throughout his long, successful career, including up until the day he died, Bob was relied upon by many, many people as an astute and trusted investment advisor. He was an avid golfer and lover of all types of sports - especially Dallas football, baseball, and basketball teams.

Bob was a member of the Kessler Park United Methodist Church his whole life. He served on innumerable committees for the church over the years, including serving on the United Methodist Church Foundation Board of Directors. He also donated many hours of his time promoting the Oak Cliff YMCA, Charlton Methodist Hospital, and Oak Cliff business development and was a long-time member of the Oak Cliff Country Club.

As accomplished as Bob was in his career and community endeavours, his family will always remember him for his devotion to them and his unique and witty sense of humour.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Kessler Park United Methodist Church. 1215 Turner Ave. Dallas, TX 75208.
