Robert Anthony Silvas

Robert Anthony Silvas, 49, passed away on October 3, 2021 in Desoto, Texas. He resided in Duncanville, Texas. He was born on October 16, 1971 in Dallas, Texas to Bennie P. Silvas and Maria P. Cadena. Robert was raised in South Dallas and Oak Cliff; and attended Sunset High School, Mountain View and El Centro Colleges.

He was an avid Star Trek and Star Wars fan and would quote along with each episode. Robert loved music from all genres with his absolute favorites being music by Moby, The Cure and David Bowie. Artists like Vicente Fernandez and Selena made him feel grounded to his cultural roots. When he wasn't listening to his music or watching Star Trek for the 1000th time, he was watching anything available about aerospace and jet fighters.

His family and friends will always remember him for his penchant of being a daredevil and mischievous. A sly smile always meant some crazy plan was brewing. He was smart, sarcastic, funny, a bit profane and loyal. He had a generous heart to those closest to him.

He is preceded in death by His father, Bennie P Sílvas; Maternal Abuelita, Matilde Posadas Pineda, Aunt, Elena C Pineda, Uncles Jimmy Sílvas, Jose Angel Sílvas, Frank Sílvas; Nephew, Jonathan Saldaña; Brother-in-Law, Daniel V Saldaña and Step-Father Juan Cadena.

Robert is survived by his Mother, Maria P Cadena; Sisters, Yolanda (Robert) S Muñoz, Virginia S Saldaña, Yvette (James) S Cooper; Brother, Bennie (Rebecca) Sílvas, Jr.; Nieces, Stephanie Muñoz, Vivian (Brad) S Williams and Sarah Sílvas; Nephews, Randall (Vanessa) Muñoz, Daniel (Lisa) Saldaña, Jr. He also is survived by many step siblings and cousins.

A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247, followed by a prayer service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
