Bob Schiegg passed away at his home after a 6 month illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Leo and Margretta Schiegg. Bob graduated from the Univ. of Pittsburgh. He joined the Army Air Corp and served as an engineer on a B-24 in the 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group, 409th Bomb Squadron. As a Staff Sgt., Bob served stateside in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a chemist and partner in Ecco Chemicals, Inc. from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. Bob became a consultant to Mar-Tek Industries until Feb. 2012. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #504, and attained 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus Council 799.
Bob is survived by his wife, Genie C. Schiegg; children, Sheila Miller, Gayle Schiegg, Charles Schiegg and Erika Schiegg all of Dallas; grandchildren, Debra Easley, Dan Miller, Nadia Cousland (Everett) all of Dallas; great grandchildren, Stevie, Ryan, Rachel, Allye, Trey and Hollie; step children, Diane Allen (Gary) of CO, Dan P. Pike of Fulton, TX, Pamela Pike of NY; step grandchildren, Dusty Bishop (Maria) of OH and Zachary Allen of CO; sister, Audrey Bullian of Pittsburgh; brothers, Alan Schiegg (Dawn) of Denton, TX and Dallas Schiegg (Joann) of Pittsburgh.
A Rosary followed by Memorial Mass will be 11:30 am, Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave. Dallas 75214. Inurnment will be at a later date at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to KittyCo Cat Rescue at www.kittyco.org, VITAS Hospice at 8585 N. Stemmons Fwy #700 Dallas, TX 75247, or a charity of your choice.
