Robert K Robinson, a proud Dallas resident for almost 60 years, passed away on June 8, 2018, at the age of 88. He was the fourth of five children born to Roy Tennyson Robinson and Willie Clark Robinson on March 14, 1930, in Harmon County, Oklahoma. After graduating high school in 1948 and operating a harvesting business with his brother Bill, he served in the US Army from 1954-6. In 1964 he married Joan Kelly of Oklahoma City, OK, and they settled in Dallas. In 1973, he started his own business, Signal Metal Industries, and eventually was able to work alongside his sons. He remained active in the business until his death. In addition to his family and his business, he was passionate about the East Texas ranch that he and Joan built, starting in 1979, eventually moving there permanently in 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Durward, sister Inez and son Greg. He is survived by the one true love in his life and wife of 54 years, Joan Kelly Robinson, their sons Robby and his wife Kelly, and Ryan and his wife Carrie, all of Dallas. He is also survived by his daughter, Cathy Moritz of Denver, CO, sister Ina Phares of Lubbock, TX; as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
