Bob was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on January 9, 1942, and was the youngest son of William Joseph and Velma (Warren) Reedy. His older brother and friend, William Joseph Reedy, resides in Boardman, Ohio.
Bob graduated from Wilson High School in 1959 and went on to attend Youngstown State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1966.
Bob worked his way up through the sales management ranks at IBM for nearly 15 years (and multiple branch locations) before leaving to take a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales role at REI Worldwide in Dallas, TX, a role that, quite literally, took him all over the globe. Bob held multiple leadership roles at various Fortune 500 companies in the final years of his career before finally retiring in 2004.
As a younger man, he was an avid runner/marathoner and in his later years, an enthusiastic walker, especially of dogs, with whom he had an uncanny bond. Bob loved all things outdoors, had an especially green thumb in his garden and an unparalleled indoor collection of orchids. He was an accomplished cook, specifically in the “brunch genre” and had a Hollandaise recipe that approached near mythical status in the DFW metroplex. Along with his strong bond and commitment to his family, Bob was also known for his commitment to his friends, and was instrumental in maintaining the weekly meetings amongst his close, tight circle of friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine (Titangos) Reedy, and his doting 5 children – daughter Tracey (Jeff) Edwards of Arvada, CO; son Robert, Jr. of Dallas, TX; daughter Carrie (Matt) McKown of Sicily, Italy; daughter Nicole (Tom) Reger, II, of Dallas, TX; son Kurt (Keri) Pape of Austin, TX.
Bob was blessed with 8 amazing grandchildren and one great-grandchild (and another on the way) - Emily (Cole) Hardy of Aurora, CO; John Dalton of Sacramento, CA; Laura Dalton of Lakewood, CO; Justin Edwards of Arvada, CO; Jack McKown of Sicily, Italy; Thomas Reger, III, of Dallas, Texas; Alexandra Reger of Dallas, TX; Cole McKown of Sicily, Italy, and great-grandchild Evelyn Hardy of Aurora, CO.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and role model who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Tom Reger, II.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the St Jude Children’s Hospital or to the ASPCA.
