Robert Joseph Potts

Potts, Robert Joseph (Bob) April 17, 1922 – December 3, 2015. Bob was born in Jasonville, IN to Gladys and Joe Potts and was raised in Terre Haute, IN and Pontiac, MI. He attended Albion College and Medical School at University at Buffalo in NY. He had a full and varied life, a true renaissance man! As an intern, he lived in Honolulu, HI. He met the love of his life, a sassy nurse, who could and did put up with his cockiness. Bob married Marilyn Adaire Schrader, August 10, 1947. They were married 68 years, until her death Oct. 3, 2015. Only 2 months could separate them. They moved to Dallas in 1953. Bob worked for Magnolia Oil, which became Mobil Oil, now Exxon Mobil. Bob was Medical Director until his retirement in 1983. Preceded in death by parents; daughters, Leslie and Lianne; and wife, Marilyn. He is survived by children, Lauren Potts Barrett, Lisa Potts Vivatson (Reed); grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Hernandez, Robert Barrett, Laura, Sara, and Anna Vivatson; great-grandchildren, Maddy and Jack Hernandez and surrogate family, Patrizia, Luis and David Taledano. Visitation will be 9-10AM Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home with Funeral service at 10AM Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.
