SSGT Robert E. Miller U. S. Army, retired, was born on 28 September 1931 in Columbus, Ohio and passed on 9 January 2018. A longtime resident of Duncanville, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1971. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for distinguished service in the Republic of Vietnam and numerous other service and campaign awards. He subsequently worked for the City of Duncanville in the Water Department for 24 years where he was recognized as an accomplished employee. Upon retirement, he was active with the Texas Northern Model Railroad Club for many years. He also enjoyed dancing and playing cards with his friends at the Senior Center.
He is predeceased by his first wife Ursula and survived by his wife Carlene and sons Peter and Dieter Miller. He will be missed by the many that loved him.
Viewing will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Monday 15 January, 2018 at 8:30 am, followed by a memorial service at 9 am. Final internment will take place at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:30 am with full military honors.
