Robert grew up in Birmingham where he graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1960. In high school he played football, basketball and baseball and ran track.
Robert attended Samford College in Birmingham and graduated from SMU in Dallas, Texas. He then became an Oracle Database Administrator.
On Valentine’s Day in 1960, Robert proposed to his high school sweetheart, Linda Elaine Kibler who passed away in February, 2015. They were married on October 1, 1960 at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Birmingham.
They lived in Birmingham until 1972 when Robert was transferred to West Des Moines, Iowa. In May of 1979 he was transferred to Texas where they lived in Garland up to the present.
Robert and Linda were blessed with two children, LeAnne Mileski and Shane Magness, and Grandkids: BreAnne Stretch, Laine Mileski, Larisa Owen, Cassie Linn Farris, Ashley Magness, Lily Magness, Emma Magness and also Great Grandkids: Sistinas Stretch, Tripp Stretch, Marshall Stretch, Rayne Owen, Grey Owen, Dimetri Mileski.
When Robert came to Texas in 1979 he worked with Howmet Aluminum in Rockwall as a Systems Analyst. He retired from Boeing Aerospace.
Robert enjoyed traveling and being outside. He enjoyed doing things with his kids and grandkids. He was also involved with his church, Northlake Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother and 3 sisters and his wife.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, July 29 at 1pm at Northlake Baptist Church.
