Robert was the oldest of four children, including one brother and two sisters. He was an
amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend.
As a child, Robert grew up in Dallas, Texas, playing many different sports in school, and spent a
lot of time with his family at his grandparent’s house. From a young age he always cared about
everyone around him and was never afraid to be the one in charge. Any need that was shared
became his to fulfill or solve.
Robert graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1997 and received a football scholarship to
Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He graduated from Northwood University with
a Bachelor’s degree in business administration on June 30 th , 2004.
Robert lived in Arlington, Texas, where he owned the Old Cocktail Lounge. Not only was Robert
an incredible chef that would feed everyone, but he would go out of his way to make sure
everyone around him felt showered with love, and would do anything to make sure they had a
better day.
Anyone that knew Robert knew that he had a big smile and an even bigger heart. He was a
proud uncle who cherished every second with his nieces and nephews. He loved planning
family gatherings and cooking for everyone who joined. He enjoyed going to baseball games
and football games with friends, as well as hosting big game days at the bar.
He is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Nancy Lopez, his brother Noah, his sisters
Ashley, and Paula, his grandmothers Teresa Porras and Christina Parades, as well as aunts,
uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved and cherished him.
The family invites everyone who loved Robert to join them on Friday, May 31 st , 12:00 p.m. –
3:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, Texas 75232.
