Robert Ferrell King Sr.

Robert King, Sr. Bob was born April 20, 1936 in Emory, TX and passed away March 14, 2011, following a long battle with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by parents Robert D. King, Sr. and E. Marie McBride King. Bob was raised in Wills Point by his grandparents, Rev. Henry McBride and wife, Leila. At an early age, Bob accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized by his grandfather. Following high school graduation, Bob moved to Dallas and worked a short time with his uncle prior to enlisting in the Navy. Upon completion of his military service, Bob returned to Dallas and began his career as a computer programmer. Bob & Nona met through friends and were married August 13, 1965. Bob loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, working in the yard but most of all he loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by wife Nona, sons and daughter-in-law James & Mona, Scott, Robbie; grandchildren Tiffany, Selena, Christopher, Eliana, Amara and one great granddaughter, Traysen; siblings and spouses Teresa & George, Bill & Edna, Robert D., Carolann, Kay, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel; inurnment at DFW National Cemetery, at a later date
