Robert Joseph Bruce (Bob) of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 7, 2022. He was born November 22, 1936, in McCaskill, Arkansas, to Lyal Lee Bruce and Anna Deen Norfleet Bruce. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ina Lou Daniels Bruce, daughter Deborah Bruce Nixon, husband Andy of Dallas, Texas; son Daniel Lee Bruce, wife Debra of Houston, Texas; sister Melissa Cathey Bruce and husband Tom Beck of Woodland Park, Colorado; son-in law Paul Marxuach of Dallas, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Martha Bruce Chamberlain and daughter Deen Bruce Marxuach.
Bob enjoyed a lifetime of music as a percussionist, dulcimist, student of classical guitar and was an avid reader of all topics, but especially theology. He graduated from Henderson State Teachers College (now Henderson State University) in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, in 1958 where he met his wife, Lou. After graduation, he began a forty-year management career in the life and health insurance industry.
Bob was a member of the Munger Place United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. He taught adult Sunday school for over 40 years.
