Raised in Boston by Romanian immigrants, Bob served in the army and was proud that the GI bill allowed him to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston University. He moved to Dallas, Texas as a young adult, where he met and married his wife and raised their three daughters. His career endeavors included printing, insurance sales and computer programming. Bob spent 22 joyous retirement years teaching computer basics to elders.
Bob was a kind person and gentle man. He had a keen sense of humor, a warm and generous heart and was deeply loved by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Viva Gallin Brenner; his daughters Vicki Itzkowitz (Gene), Shari Brenner and Mara Brenner; grandchildren Jonathan Itzkowitz, Marny Weaver (Cody), Nora Brenner-West and Cybele Brenner-West; and great grandson Mordecai Weaver.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 11 a.m., graveside at Shearith Israel Memorial Park on Dolphin Road.
Pallbearers include Gene Itzkowitz, Mickey Radoff, Perry Radoff, Robert Radoff, Robert Donosky, Alex Rubenstein, and Denis Kehlmann. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Weber, Don Chancellor, Bob Kaplan, and Cody Weaver.
A Shiva Minyan service will be held at Shearith Israel on Sunday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the Beck Family Sanctuary.
Donations can be made in honor of Bob Brenner’s life to St Jude’s Hospital for Children, Congregation Shearith Israel, or Hadassah.
