Richard Charles Wolfe

Richard was born on February 12, 1939 in Lincoln, NE to Walter and Margaret Wolfe. He served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969. After serving, Richard married Evelyn Cole and opened Wolfe Studio in Monmouth, IL. While in Illinois, they had two sons, Ricky and Eric. They later moved to Portland, TX where Richard held various jobs in the area. Their son Eric was killed in a tragic car accident in 1991, and then Richard’s wife Evelyn passed in 1995 from Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The following year, Richard met Beverly Mathews in Corpus Christi, TX and the two got married. Richard accepted Beverly’s daughter Katie Mathews as his own. A month later, he opened Portraits by Richard, which would become the premier portrait studio in Portland, TX. Richard was an expert at capturing families, students, pets, wildlife, and nature on film and won numerous awards for his photography. Shortly after opening the studio, they built a house and moved to Aransas Pass, TX.

After Richard and his wife Beverly retired, they moved to Frisco, TX in 2006 to be closer to their daughter and her new family. In Frisco, they enjoyed building many new friendships with other residents in their new community through the Camera Club Richard founded, taking cruises with friends, Bocce Ball leagues, a poker group, and other social groups.

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cared deeply for people, serving and encouraging others daily.

He is survived by his Wife Beverly Wolfe, their daughter Katie Morton and her husband Jeff Morton, and their sons Wesley and Andrew Morton. He is also survived by his sister Sharilyn Kimball, her son Jeff and his wife Christine and their son Daniel. Richard is also survived by his son Ricky Wolfe. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Wolfe, sons Brad Wolfe and Eric Wolfe, and brother in law Dan Kimball.
