Richard Dean Shipley

Richard is survived by his wife Lori of Carrollton, TX; mother Bertie Shipley of Cedar Hill, TX; mother-in-law Lorene O’Neil of Carrollton, TX; son Richard Shipley, Jr. and Patty of San Juan, Philippines; grandsons Daniel, Kyle, Kade; daughter Elise Koester and husband Matt of Plano, TX; granddaughter Cassidy; sister Sherie Walls of Garland, TX; brother George Shipley, Jr. of Malaysia; and several nieces, nephews aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father George E. Shipley, Sr. and his father-in-law Bob O’Neil.

Richard was born June 23, 1957, in Big Spring, TX and moved to Denver City, TX in 1962, then to Cedar Hill, TX. in 1972, where he graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1975. He was employed by National Lloyds and Nalico General Agency as a marketing manager for the last seven years, and in the manufactured homes industry for 22 years.

Richard enjoyed golf and the many golfing trips and tournaments with his golfing buddies. He loved family cruises and cooking for the many friends and family gatherings in his home.

A very generous and loving family man and friend will be missed dearly.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 1pm at Ted Dickey West, 7990 George Bush, Dallas, TX 75252. David McElwain will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Richard’s life.
