Richard “Raunchy” Ramirez, a long-time resident of Irving, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 78. He was born on January 5, 1942 in Laredo, Texas to Encarnación Ramirez and Francisca (Najera) Ramirez.
He married Maria “May” Rivera in January 1967, and together they began their lives. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading, working, and going to the casino after his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a huge sports fan, and his favorite NFL player was Tom Brady.
He graduated from N.R. Crozier Tech in 1961. He worked in the restaurant industry for 45 years and retired from Esparza’s Mexican Restaurant after 30 years of service. His family and friends will always remember him as a simple, patient, fun, loving, caring, and hardworking person.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years Maria “May” Ramirez; two sons: Albert Ramirez and wife Yolanda, and Carlos Ramirez and wife Leticia; three siblings: Evilia Ramirez, Mary Perez, and Rey Ramirez; six grandchildren: Analisa Ramirez, Alec Ramirez, Adam Martinez, Alexandra Gomez, Sophia Torres, Monica Rodriguez; and five great-grandchildren.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents: Encarnación Ramirez and Francisca Ramirez; siblings: Roberto Ramirez, Emma Vergara, Joe Ramirez, Rudy Ramirez, and Irma Davila.
Pallbearers will be Joe Michael Ramirez, Michael Roy Ramirez, Danileo Davila, Edward Davila, Stanley Rivera, and Adam Martinez.
In accordance with local, state, and federal government, including CDC directives, we ask everyone attending funeral services to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
