Richard Byron Post

Richard was born May 29, 1940, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Louis Byron Post and Mary Grimes Post. He is preceded in death by brother, Roger Wiley Post and sister, Carol Jeanne Post.

Richard was a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Finance and worked in the aviation insurance industry for many years. Dad’s interest in aviation grew from family stories shared about his uncle, Wiley Post, an aviation-pioneer who was the first to solo circumnavigate the world in 1933.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth S. Post of Dallas, Texas, and daughter-in-law and son, Amy Paschall Post and R. Jordan Post, M.D. of New Braunfels, Texas. His favorite role was as Grandpa to his four grandchildren Mia, Karly, Wiley and Nina Post of New Braunfels, Texas.

The family would like to thank Jason Nelson, M.D., Hope Hospice and the healthcare professionals at Eden Hill Lantana for the loving care of our Dad and Grandpa. While we will miss him terribly, his faith in Jesus reminds us that this was not his final home.

A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX ,75225. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
