My family has counted on Rick for a long time. He was always pleasant to deal with and I loved seeing him in the store at Walts. He will be missed by so many who had the pleasure to know him. RIP my friend. 

As neighbors, he always had a great smile on his face and always for a quick conversation and a big wave as you pass by.  He always called on my husband for help with his vehicles and us with help with a new appliances.  A great neighbor.

I only knew Rick from his business but I felt like he was a friend!  Rick was always so kind and helpful when I would call the store.  We were on the same page on all the issues that matter and  we had some great conversations while I was purchasing an appliance over the phone.!  I am so sad about his passing and I will miss him.  I didn't have the opportunity to know his family  but I want to extend my sympathy to all of them.  You have lost a wonderful man and I will pray for you.

I’m shocked. I have known and dealt with Rick for more years than I can remember. Just bought a refrigerator from him in June. He was always my “go to” guy when it came to appliances. Great loss for all and especially his family. My prayers are with you as you travel this road. I know it is a great loss 

The Smith’s have known Rick and Terry since the day they moved in our neighborhood. He is the foundation of our neighborhood and it will not be the same. He had a smile that would light up your day, he will be missed dearly. 

My family loved Rick!! He was always so friendly and loving. He genuinely cared! My Sister lives  next door to Terry and Rick and whenever we went over there and ran into Rick he always talked with us asking for updates.  He and Terry were so generous with sharing their pool with us.. it was so sweet of them, big hearted people!!

More than just a neighbor, a very good friend.  Rick was one of the most authentic, joyful, kind and loving friends we had.  We always enjoyed his welcoming smile at the end of the day as we would visit with him.   I remember many years ago when we thought we were going to move and as we were cleaning out our garage, Rick & Terry came over to give us a tray of shrimp, cheese and crackers.  They didn't want us to move.  Well, we never did.  We stayed because of our sweet friends next door.  Ralph and I were always in awe of how sweet Rick & Terry were and how they were always together.  He loved his family and was always bragging about them.  We will cherish the so many good memories we had with this man.  

I remember the fun we had at 3518 Durango Drive. The one memory that is so vivid is the McDonell boys gathering all the Christmas trees left on the curbs, We then built epic Christmas tree forts. We were the envy of the hood.

And yes, his infectious smile and laugh. I miss you bro.

I have so many  great memories of our family get togethers back in the day.  I wish we never had to stop them!  I do have so many  great memories of cutting Uncle Ricky’s hair for 40 years.  I always looked  forward to seeing & hearing about  what was going on in his life! and I was always about Terry and his kids and grandkids, work,  and politics and what was going on in this world.  He was always genuinely interested to hear about my family and how we were all doing .  He was always smiling & handsome, and happy and the most generous person ever!   What an impact he left on my  family and our hearts 💕  Our very favorite Uncle EVER!  💕   I will miss you every moment of every day!  Will look forward to seeing Uncle Ricky in Heaven!

I had the pleasure of knowing Rick and Terry through my husband Ben, their CPA over many years.  Many things stood out about Rick.  He loved his God, his country, and his family.  He also loved his job and was excellent at his job.  Rick always portrayed a great love of family and this is inspiring.  If people could love like Rick, the world would be a better place.  In fact, the world is a better place for Rick touching our lives through great conversation and displaying his love of family to everyone he met.  Terry was never far from Rick and this was how Rick wanted it.  I pray for Terry and his family as Rick will be greatly missed, but believe me, he is walking & talking with God now.  We never know how God uses us and if you are looking for pictures of a wonderful family man, look no further, you see it in Rick.  My husband used to head to Walt's to deliver financials and I always knew that he would come back with his life enriched for chatting with Rick & Terry.  We will miss you Rick and the love you showed everyone.

In Life, there are a handful of people you meet that you can trust and call them a true friend.  Rick was one of the handful.   I know he is not here, but thank God I do know where he is.  He has met Jesus and is walking in the true light and serenity only Jesus Christ can give.
  I knew Rick in the capacity of his CPA for well over 30 years.  We talked many times and I will miss not having those conversations. He was a conservative and a Christian.  I pray that God will give comfort to the family that he has left behind.

It is with a heavy heart that we write this.  We have done business with Rick for several years and he was always so nice and so upbeat.  He was truly a pleasure to have as a client.  You just felt better after speaking to him.  Everyone at Discount Vacuum & Appliance in Waco, TX will greatly miss him.  We would like to also extend our thoughts and prayers to Joey and his wife during this time.
