Richard William McCarty, age 83, passed away on February 12, 2012 in Garland, TX. He was born on July 11, 1928 in Lennox, CA to Ronald and May McCarty. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Legh McCarty. He is survived by his brother, Ronald McCarty of Upper Saddle River, NJ; five nieces and nephews, William and Michael McCarty of New Jersey, Vicki King and Kendall Marrs of California, and Candy Warren of Dallas. Richard was a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy. In WWII he was awarded the Victory Medal; Second Award, National Defense Service Medal; China Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba); Korean Service Medal; UN Service Medal; Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Richard will be dearly missed by his loving family. He will be inurned with his wife at the Arlington National Cemetery.
