Richard Martinez

Richard Martinez, age 69, passed away on December 26, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 31, 1951 in Dallas, TX to Juan & Juanita Martinez. Richard was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended North Dallas High School in 1969. He married Virginia in 1979 and the couple had no children. He was a Deputy Sheriff at Dallas County where he worked for more than 35 years.

In his spare time Richard enjoyed doing genealogy, reading, and researching records, collecting stamps and watching wrestling. As a young boy he loved reading comic books and building transistor radios in small cigar boxes.

His family and friend will always remember him as a devoted son to his mother who he called daily; he had a unique way of looking at life. He was always curious and was always asking questions. He was a wonderful, loving and caring person.

He is preceded in death by: His wife Virginia.

Survived by: His mother- Juanita Martinez; sisters- Margaret Chance and brother in- law Darryl Chance, Dora Dowell, Dolores Martinez; Brothers- Rolando Martinez, Rudy Martinez and sister in law Patricia Martinez; Uncle- Lucy Thomas, Robin Dowell Michaels and her husband Jason Michaels, Nicolas Dowell, Rachel Dowell Coffey and her husband Tory Coffey, Joshua Martinez and his wife Connie; Great uncle- Natalie Thomas, Grayson Dowell, & Eleanor Martinez.
