Richard Rex Hall, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, after a brief illness. A memorial viewing will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, April 15, at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 S. R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. Burial services will also be held at Laurel Land, beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 16. Reverend R. P. Lawson will officiate. Those wishing to sign Richard's guestbook may do so at www.laurellanddallas.com. Richard was born on May 12, 1933, in Dallas, TX, to Eloise (Lott) and John Lyle Hall. A 1950 graduate of Sunset High School, Richard was a member of the ROTC, US Navy Reserve, and NRA, and he served two terms as a Cockrell Hill city council member. An avid hunter and fisherman, Richard was also a firearms expert and classic car enthusiast. As a professional engineering technician, Richard was an FDC-licensed employee of Carter Telephone, Rockwell Collins, Ling Temco Vought, and Texas Instruments. In his 35 years at the latter company, Richard helped pioneer the TI calculator and memory phone, along with numerous strategic military products. Richard is survived by his wife Ann Hall; daughter Deborah Reese and husband Michael; daughter Patricia Landrum; daughter Teresa Parnell and husband Gary; son Anthony Hall; seven grandchildren Kacie, Erinn, Cheryl, Jordan, Brett, Haley, Tyler; and great-granddaughter Emma. Richard is also survived by his sister Shirley Miller, numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family, and many friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy, and brothers John Lyle, Jr., Walter, and Jerry.
