Richard Arredondo, 73, of Glenn Heights, Texas passed away on September 8, 2017. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 10, 1943 to the late Paul and Josephine Zamora Arredondo. Mr. Arredondo was the owner and operator of his business, Arredondo Home Remodeling, for 33 years. His hobbies included fishing and bird watching. There was one hawk in particular that had the same schedule as him. When Richard would go outside for morning coffee, the hawk would be seen flying around the house looking for breakfast. When Richard came home for dinner he would be greeted by the hawk who was also looking for dinner. But make no mistake, what he liked to do the most was watch football and he was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Frances Arredondo, his sons: Rikki Arredondo, Richard Moses Arredondo, and Andrew Joel Arredondo; his daughters Lisa Marie Dillion and Monica Arredondo; six grandchildren: Justin Riklyn Arredondo, Blake Andrew Arredondo, Trent Richard Arredondo, Shane Eugene and Angel Kelsey Dillion, Chris Andrew Dillion; one great grandchild Shelby Dawn Arredondo; three brothers Paul Arredondo, Moses Arredondo, and Ernest Arredondo and one sister Odelia Martinez. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Jacob Arredondo, Joseph Arredondo, and Alfred Arredondo, a sister Lucinda Jacquez and a son-in-law Shayne Eugene Dillion. Pallbearers will be Shane Eugene Dillion Jr., Trent Richard Arredondo, Jacob Arredondo, Joseph Arredondo, Alfred Arredondo Jr., and Albert Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leslie Gourd, Rudy Gourd, James Gourd, Keith Gourd, Steven Gourd, Eli Arredondo, Ruben Arredondo, Pablo Arredondo Jr., Adam Arredondo, and David Arredondo. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Laurel Land Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home with Pastor Tony "Doug" Meshell officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Reception will follow at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Family will be accepting donations in lieu of flowers.
