It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Rebecca Sandoval, 85, of Dallas, Texas. Rebecca entered this world on January 3, 1937, in Villa de Guadalupe, SLP Mexico to loving parents, Jose Zapata Lara and Maria Isabel Martinez Zapata. She entered her heavenly home on February 11, 2022, surrounded by the love of her children at her side.
Rebecca lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas where she met and wed Evaristo Sandoval, and went on to raise their family of five children, Norma, Marco, Margarita, Evaristo Jr., and Esmeralda. During her early working years Rebecca was employed for American Airlines, the iconic Lonestar Donuts on Beckley, and the interesting role of wig beautician which included clientele such as The Supremes of Motown Records. Later in the 1970s she transitioned to full time homemaker caring for her children and helping raise her grandchildren thereafter. Rebecca enjoyed extensive travel on family vacations, cooking delicious meals for friends and family including her famous mole and rice, and her hobby of personalized quilt making for loved ones. Rebecca was a devout Catholic with much involvement in the church including choir, fundraisers, and vigil services. Throughout her life and especially during her golden years Rebecca found much comfort and happiness tending to her beautiful plants, playing loteria, caring for her birds, reciting daily prayer, vacations to Mexico, and time spent around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rebecca was big hearted, caring, and sympathetic to those in need. Throughout her entire life she helped all those in need with whatever she had, and she was always bearing gifts when she traveled to visit friends or family. She was a shoulder to lean on and listen in times of need and despair. Most of all she loved her family beyond description and dedicated herself to all of them.
