Rebecca Sue Bowers, 75, of McKinney, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born December 11, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to Catherine Stewart and Henry Paulos. Becky graduated from Hillsboro High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981. She later completed medical technologist school in Corsicana.
Becky spent over 20 years in the medical lab field. She worked in labs in Oak Cliff, Arlington and Seagoville. She ended her career using her experience doing QA for LabCorp for many years.
Becky greatly enjoyed spending time with her immediate and extended family. She especially loved the huge Easter gatherings at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bubba’s home. She also loved Christmas and wrapping presents with special bows that were hand tied with accessories.
During her retirement, Becky enjoyed volunteering and participating in activities at the Senior Center and the St Gabriel the Archangel church. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and attended as many activities as she was able. She spent hours with her dogs and enjoyed Augie’s company very much the past two years.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Craig Allen.
Surviving members of the family include her three sons: Geoffrey Jones and wife Denice, Christopher Jones and wife Jenny, and Nicholas Bowers; granddaughter Amanda Jones; three grandsons: Zachary Jones, Hayden Bowers and Alexander Jones; and one great granddaughter, Daedra Jones.
Memorials have been established in her name for St. Vincent de Paul of North Texas and the SPCA. Memorials may be sent to 5008 Adolphus D, Frisco, TX 75035. The family requests that memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers.
