I just learned tonight of your passing, Uncle Ray. I'm grateful that Scott and I had the chance to spend the day with you and Gladys last summer. We laughed and ate and talked about everything. You reminded me so much of my dad during that visit. I will forever remember your sense of humor and your love of tinkering, along with your smile and the love you had for me. Rest in Peace, Uncle Ray. No more suffering. I know my dad met you at the Pearly Gates and gave you a big bear hug for keeping an eye on me all these years. You will be in my heart forever.

Even though I was just Ray's step daughter I really thought of him as my Father.  Many many years of memories.  I remember probably 15 years ago Randy got a new tractor and Ray and Momma (Gladys) were our for a visit.  Randy could tell that Ray really wanted to drive it.  For some reason Ray was looking back at the brush cutter and ran smack into the fence.  We talked about that for many years after.  I always enjoyed his many stories of growing up with all his brothers and sisters and how hard it was, and the stories of Dallas.  Boy did he know a lot about Dallas and how things use to be back in the day.  And then the last few years when age just got the best of him.  He really thought he could still do the things he use to be able to do.  Just last year we went over and there was a new toilet setting in the hallway....What!...how did he get the old toilet out in the first place.  And then the many hospital stays, when Ray was in and Momma was out or the other way around, Darlene and I about wore ourselves out making sure they both saw each other every day.  My heart hurts, I will miss you Ray.  You are for sure in a better place, no more suffering, no more asking every day when you can go home....you are home !!  Randy and Linda Craig

This goes out to my grandfather, I love you and I know your in a much better place, but I'm going to miss everything about you,thanks for your guidance , patience and wisdom,and all that you didn't have to for me , but did anyway.The world has lost a hero as well as the greatest man I've known. I'm my Dad's Daughter for sure.  My arms are long and strong like his and give the same big, super hugs he loved to give and receive.  My smile is well known for it's warmth and friendliness - again, inherited from my Dad.  My heart is kind, giving and thoughtful with compassion and love of my family - just like Dad's.
I'm so mechanically minded and no one knew where that came from except me.  It was my Dad's genes for sure.
  Getting to know my Dad in my adulthood completed my life.  Though the time spent was short, the love was always strong, comfortable, without judgment  and always brought laughter.
I loved the relationship he had with Gladys.  To see the two of them behave like teenagers gave me such joy.
Dad, I'm having a hi-ball for you today on your birthday and giving you my biggest smile knowing that you are pain free and watching over us, as you always did.
I'm getting married in a couple of weeks Dad and I will have you walk me down the aisle in spirit.
