With great sadness, we announce the tragic loss of Philip Bowen Austin, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, who died peacefully in his sleep on November 11, 2019. Philip was born in Houston, TX on July 22, 1986, but was raised in Dallas, where he attended Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He was an alumnus of The St. Marks School of Texas and Vanderbilt University and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was an engineer and an entrepreneur, an avid learner, an unconventional risk taker, and a loyal friend. A loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and cousin, Philip was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bowen Austin, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. George Philip Weidmann, and is survived by his wife Claire Anne Jordan, his son Christopher Bowen Austin (and Bowen’s sibling due in February), his parents, Earl Bowen Austin III and Kathryn Weidmann Austin, his sisters Alexandra Harrington Austin and Kathryn Grace Austin, his father and mother-in-law Carole and Chris Jordan and brother-in-law George Jordan and his girlfriend Nicole Francis, his aunt and uncle, Carla and Robert Dubois, cousin Katie Hudson, her husband Harrison and their children Henry and George Hudson, Anna DuBois, William DuBois and wife Jessica, Elizabeth Austin Mazzarella, her husband Brian and their children Caroline, and Charlotte Mazzarella, his aunt Cynthia Austin Holbrook, uncle James Austin, his wife Karla and their son, Brett. A service for Philip will be held at St. Marks School of Texas in Dallas, TX on Saturday November 24, 2018 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please direction donations to the St. Marks Scholarship Fund.
