Peggy Elizabeth Martin

After a brief battle with Cancer, Peggy Elizabeth Martin, went to Heaven to join her loved ones. Her battle is over, Her pain & suffering has come to an end. Now, her joy lives on with us, to help make us better people. Peggy was born in Dallas, Texas...Adopted from Hope Cottage at 3 days old by her new parents; the parents that would raise her to be the wonderful person she was. Peggy (Little Peggy as she was referred to) is preceded in death by her parents: Alden and Margaret Martin (Big Peggy) and sadly too many friends to name them all, but they all counted and forever remained in her heart and in her mind. Peggy worked for a Dallas Insurance Company, where she rose to the position of Vice President (a title then...to just be held by men) before retiring, to Cedar Creek Lake where she made her home for the last 30 years. Peggy had a welcoming personality and really loved life. She loved to travel the world and had her special places in the states to go back to: Galveston with family and friends, Vegas with family and friends, to and from Cracker Barrel with family and friends....do you see the thread: "Family and Friends". Since Peggy was an only child, she made her own family with friends and loved ones that became part of her life... And who could ask for more...She was true and loyal until the day she died. Peggy loved to play cards whether it be for an impromptu SkipBo Game with friends or the Ladies Thursday Card Game...But that's when her gracious personality would go by the wayside...oh she would still be nice, as she took you 'down', beat you and if you were playing for nickels...take the last penny you had...smile, say thank you, then hug your neck as you left...with 'I love you' and let's do it again soon! Everyone will tell you those were the most fun times. Peggy had one of the most sharp and efficient minds all the way 'til the end...She was still working her crossword puzzles and 4 days before she passed she was at the dining room table, paying her bills and taking care of life's business. She wanted everything in place...we even think that she arrived in Heaven, she was probably discussing with God the who, the what, the when and where...just to keep things in order, you see...And I would like to think God listened...With all fun aside, we know that we never have to worry about all the mundane aspects of life that bring us down and sidetrack us to what is most important: Faith Hope and Love...The greatest of these is Love....Peggy was love, to us all.
