Peggy Mae Gaylor was born on May 25, 1934, in Valley Alabama to James C. and Annie Mae Duffey. She attended Valley High School where she was an excellent athlete especially on the softball field. After graduating from high school in 1952, Peggy attended Business College in West Point, Georgia. Her first job was with the locally run West Point Pepperell Mill in their business office.
On August 25, 1957, Peggy married William Arthur Gaylor of Lanett, Alabama. They spent 65 wonderful years together, raising two sons, Coy & Steve. William's job took them throughout the United States and even overseas to the Philippines and Okinawa, which she really enjoyed as she loved to be on the go. Peggy wasn't one to just sit around. She stayed busy wherever she was, working for J.C Penney in the seventies, American Greeting Cards in Okinawa, and Children's World daycare center in Duncanville, Texas for many years. She was a great cook, a world -class shopper, and a wonderful mother who always took that role very seriously.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband William, her parents Annie Mae and James Duffey and her two brothers Charles Duffey and Willie Lee Duffey. She is survived by her sons Michael Coy (Rose) Gaylor of Carrollton, Texas and Steven Craig Gaylor of Azle, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews residing in Alabama. She will be greatly missed by her family and the ones who had the honor to know her.
