Pauline Teresa Mary Klus (“Polly”) Fuqua died March 28th in Dallas. Born July 28, 1929, in Argonne, WI, & orphaned by age 4, she lived and was educated in the Midwest before moving to Europe, where she married a Texan & later settled in Dallas. She is survived by 2 sisters, Veronica Yates of Mukwonago, WI, & Bernice Smolen of Seattle, WA; many cousins, nieces, & nephews; the “loves of her life,” her 4 children: Paul Fuqua, Rosemary (& Steve) Hemsell, Veronica (& Andy) Young, & Susie (& Darren) Hamm; 8 grandchildren: Melissa & Ryan Hemsell; Stephen, Will, & Mary Kate Young; Heather Anne, Darby, & Davy Hamm; adoptive step-granddaughter Nini Sterling, & a circle of dear friends. Polly worked as a legal assistant, retiring to volunteer in nursing homes, for adult literacy with Ursuline Sr. Margaret Solon, & with her church, The Open Window, & several social justice groups. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by family & friends, enjoying tennis, bridge, reading, piano & baking. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Sat., April 2nd at All Saints Catholic Church, preceded by visitation at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to All Saints Catholic Church Library, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr., Dallas, TX 75248.
