He graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas in 1966 and from Dallas Baptist College in 1977. Paul started his career working for Tom’s Foods and moved into management at Albertsons and Walmart. He retired in 2016 as Manager for Family Dollar.
After 27 years of marriage, Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley Veltman. He is leaving behind his loving daughter Melissa Veltman of Frisco, son Brandon Veltman and grandson Sebastian Veltman of Frisco. His siblings include sisters Lucretia Rowland of DeSoto, Minnette Canada of Ovilla, Sandra and Jim Coffman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and brother Steve and Rhonda Veltman of Red Oak.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Dorothy Veltman, brother Billy Veltman, and twin brother Philip Veltman.
He loved visiting and keeping in touch with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Paul had a big heart, loved to talk, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed working at the State Fair of Texas and visiting the Fair each year. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
Paul was the proud Mayor of Cockrell Hill, Texas from 1987-1988. He made faithful contributions to Dallas Baptist University and other various organizations. He loved spending time with his dogs and cats.
Paul has touched so many people’s lives, and he will be greatly missed.
