Paul was born to the late Jerome and Leona Seidel in Memphis, Tennessee but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. After a brief stint at Washington University in St. Louis, he decided to move to Dallas with his family to a house on Joyce Way. When he was just shy of 20 years old, he and his older brother, Norton, opened a children’s clothing and shoe store on Lovers Lane. Eventually, Paul and his brother, along with another partner, started a women’s clothing manufacturing company, Trio Sportswear, in Lewisville, Texas. At its height, Trio grew to have several factories in Texas and sold clothing all over the US. After his success with Trio, Paul made a career change and used his real estate broker’s license to become a business broker, which he did until he was in his 80s.
He married the love of his life, Beverly Toby of Dallas, Texas on May 12, 1957, and cherished her every day until and beyond her passing in 2014.
He was loved for his kind heart and quick wit, always fast to make friends and share smiles. With his humor, chivalry, and empathy, Paul never met a stranger. He kept his loved ones laughing with his pranks and effortless one-liners, always bringing joy wherever he went. A true gentleman, Paul led his life with empathy, drive, and integrity – but most of all, care and kindness for all.
Paul’s loved ones were blessed with his devotion, love, and commitment. His family was the light of his world. From writing clever poems to share his love on birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions to creative and thoughtful gifts, Paul never missed an opportunity to shower his loved ones in his loving kindness. His children and granddaughters were treated to fantastical tales, effortlessly told as bedtime stories along with his favorite songs to sing.
He is dearly missed by his son and daughter in law, Dr. Jack Seidel and Suzanne Seidel of Dallas, Texas, his daughter and son in law, Sherri Seidel Kraft and Paul Kraft, of Carmel, Indiana, his granddaughters, Dr. Laurie Seidel Halmo, Lindsay Seidel Fleming, Melissa Kraft, and Valerie Kraft, and his four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Beyond Celiac, or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Margaret Hill, Annette Jackson, and Mary Mullen for loving and caring for Paul as their own.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com for the Seidel family.
