He was married to the love of his life for 47 years, Josephine Herrera who preceded him in death. To this union, three children were born: Paul David Salazar, Maria Cecilia Salazar Ruiz and Julie Salazar. Paul Jr. also had two older sons: Paul Jr. and Ricky Salazar.
He leaves to mourn sons; Paul Salazar Jr., Ricky Salazar and Paul David Salazar, daughters; Maria Cecilia Salazar Ruiz and Julie Salazar; daughter in law; Lucia Salazar and son in law; Javier Moreno Ruiz; grandchildren; Vanessa Cecilia Salazar, Josephine Perez, Christina Perez, Sarah Ruiz, Manuel Cuevas, Faustino Anthony Perez, Jose Antonio Ruiz, Jorge Antonio Encarnancion, Rene Santiago Salazar, Paul Alexander Salazar and Matthew David Salazar; great-grandchildren; Marissa Cecilia Morales, Eliza Marie Cano,Isabella Nicole Diaz, Aaron Jose Guillen, William Jesus Guillen, Catalina Aracely Lopez and Pablo David Lopez; sisters; Josephine Camacho, Dolores Soza, and Rosemary Valencia; brothers; Johnny and Jessie Salazar a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memories - Among the most treasured memories his children have of him are the yearly visits to Elgin, Texas which still takes place to this date.
He was employed as Technician for Public Works and Transportation with the City of Dallas for 33 years. When he retired he was a full-time caretaker to his beloved wife Josephine Herrera Salazar who fell ill due to Renal Failure.
Serving as pallbearers are Manuel Cuevas, Faustino Anthony Perez, Paul Alexander Salazar, Rene Santiago Salazar, Matthew David Salazar and Jose Antonio Ruiz.
