He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Carol Mueller (Fredricks).
Paul was born on December 18, 1959 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He was raised in Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee, and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1978. After high school, he attended and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate’s degree in Arts and Science, Electronics Technology in 1980. Paul moved to Dallas to pursue a career with MCI/Verizon and remained there for 18 years, helping to roll out the long distance phone system and early internet expansion across the nation. He embarked on a new career as a Commercial Real Estate appraiser after the Telecom bust in 2001 and he enjoyed working on the expansion of tollways, highways and large Transit projects across Texas. More recently, after the Real Estate downturn in 2008, Paul had struggled with a new career before training and landing at DART to drive buses for the physically and mentally impaired.
Paul loved watching football and was a huge fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a fan of Sci – Fi in both movies and video games and he loved music and tended to listen to the newest trends in the music industry. He was a technology enthusiast and an early adopter of new technology. He frequently relaxed by playing computer and video games and passed that love on to his children, Taylor and Veronica.
In addition, he liked working on anything that needed fixing from electronics to woodworking to home remodeling. He also had a green thumb, like his mother, and enjoyed gardening.
Paul was a Lutheran and believed in community service. He volunteered as a Salvation Army mentor in recent years.
A memorial service for Paul will be on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2 PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s honor may be made to The Salvation Army.
