Paul E. Jones

Paul Jones was born on June 17, 1928 to Louis Paul and Flora Knight Jones. He grew up on a farm outside of Henderson, Texas and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1946. Paul served his country in Korea and worked for Sun Oil Company for 35 years. While working full time he earned two degrees from Southern Methodist University. He married Barbara Ann Jones in August of 1953. Paul has four children: Keith Jones, Dwight Jones, Karen Blanchett, and Carol Barlow. He has six grandchildren: Stephanie Jones, Cathy Jones Dean, Brent Peeples, Paul Jones, Russell Blanchett, and Lisa Blanchett Helm. Paul has six great-grandchildren: Jessica Binder, Kate Peeples, Lucas Dean, Elle Peeples, Haven Peeples and Kateyln Helm. Paul and Barbara joined Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in 1959. He served faithfully as a church deacon, Sunday School teacher and director, usher, choir member, and church trustee. He traveled on many church mission trips and served on numerous church committees. Paul also volunteered as a coordinator at the White Rock Center of Hope and as a tax preparer for AARP. Paul is preceded in death by wife, Barbara, parents, Flora Knight Jones, Paul and Irma Jones, son-in-law Myron Blanchett, and brothers Grover Jones, William Jones, Gordon Jones, and Reagan Jones. He is survived by children Keith and Pam Jones of Wylie, TX, Dwight and KC Jones of Mesquite, TX, Karen Blanchett of Dallas, TX and Carol and Michael Barlow of Duluth, GA. Also by sister Ruth Hays and Tommy and brother Stephen Jones and Jane. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday December 8, 2013 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, 9810 La Prada, Dallas, TX 75228. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
