Patricia Lynne McCrory was welcomed into Heaven peacefully the morning of April 9, 2024. She was born on April 21, 1940 in Denver, CO where she resided throughout her early life and attended the University of Colorado. She ultimately chose to fly around the nation as a young stewardess until getting married and starting a family in San Antonio, TX, and eventually settling in Dallas. After her children were grown, she pursued a successful career in the residential real estate title business. As a woman of strong faith, her relationship with Jesus Christ was the pillar of her life.
Pattie joined her close circle of friends in frequent bible studies and volunteer opportunities with numerous organizations within her community. She gave her time and talents to KidneyTexas, Inc., the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. Additionally, she was involved with the Wildflowers Group, a gathering of longtime friends who enjoyed the love of each other’s company, flowers, and travel.
Amid all her various contributions, her favorite two roles were that of being mother to her children and “GeGe” to her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She looked forward to every opportunity to spend time with those she loved the most. No holiday went by, big or small, without a thoughtful written note, or phone call, to reiterate the profound love she had for her family.
Pattie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Marie and Fred Carlson, and survived by her sister, Cindy Autry. She is also survived by the father of her children, Richard Bourne, her two children, Terri Thornton (Joe) and Chris Bourne (Meshelle), and her four treasured grandchildren: Case Thornton, Katelyn (Thornton) Shuford, Ashlee Bourne, and Madisen Bourne. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchild, Briar Shuford, with another soon on the way.
Unlike her petite stature, Pattie’s vivacious spirit was mighty and captivating. She was a bright light that embodied complete joy and optimism. She leaves behind a legacy of infectious laughter, superb style, and heartfelt kindness. Her loving character and beautiful blue eyes will be greatly missed, but we can be at peace knowing she is united with her beloved Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Pattie’s Life will be held on Friday, April 19th at 10:00 am at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75205. The family requests that spring colors be worn in Pattie’s honor, as she would have wanted.
