Patti was a devoted wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend.
She had a very happy childhood growing up on her family’s farm in Hot Springs, NM where she loved riding horses and being outdoors. She later attended boarding school in El Paso where she graduated from El Paso High School. She met her future husband Ted at a USO dance while he was stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX and they married in 1957. They moved to Wisconsin and then later to California before making their home in Plano. Together they raised their two sons, Ted and Bill.
Patti loved to travel, and she turned her passion into her profession when she opened All About Travel in 1974 in Garland, Texas. She was a born leader and entrepreneur, and her company served many individual and corporate clients for over 25 years.
Her home was always filled with friends and family. One of her greatest talents was entertaining and she hosted many parties and holiday celebrations at her home. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for a large crowd.
Patti cared deeply about her church and was very involved as a volunteer over the years. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and loved an occasional trip to the casino but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great nephews.
Patti will be greatly missed by all she touched in life. She is survived by sons Ted Hornick of Plano, TX, and Bill Hornick and his wife Donna of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Katie, Emily, Sadie, and Gus; sister Sally Berube and her husband Paul of El Paso; niece Debbie Eads and her husband Tim, great nephews Colby and Chase Eads of Plano, TX; nephew Jack Day of El Paso, TX; as well as many loving friends and extended family.
Along with her loving parents, William Basel Hogan and Catherine C. Welch; Patti was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ted Hornick and nephew Mike Day.
