Patricia H Himmel

Patricia Himmel passed away in Dallas, Texas on July 11, 2015, two days before her 93rd birthday. Born to Lynn and Laura Haskin in 1922 in Owatonna, Minnesota, she graduated from high school in 1939 in Sandwich, Illinois and studied Home Economics at Iowa State University. While at Iowa State she served as president of Kappa Delta sorority and also met Robert Himmel who was her husband for nearly 58 years from 1943 until he preceded her in death in 2001. They spent most of their married life in University Park where they raised their family and were both very active members of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Patricia served as the founder of the Prayer Room Ministry, as the president of the Women of the Church organization, as a voice in the choir, and as a highly respected leader. All who knew her will miss her kindness and her selfless devotion to service and caregiving throughout her life. Surviving family members cherishing her memory are her four children, Elizabeth, John (Suzie), Richard, and Jim (Liz), and her grandson Ryan.
