Patti was born in Dallas, TX on November 17, 1943 and passed away February 22, 2023 at the age of 79. Patti resided in Hutchins, TX and passed away from congestive heart failure. Patti spent her professional career as a nurse and worked at Parkland ER and Burn Unit, and Doctor’s Hospital in Dallas, TX. Prior to her career as a nurse, Patti was a professional singer/songwriter/musician in Nashville as an ASCAP songwriter where she received numerous awards for various songs both written and co-written. Mom loved telling stories, but her favorite was cooking in the latter part of her life. Mom was a total foodie. Her most recent love was making breads of various kinds with her “fancy” Kitchen Aid Blender as well as spending time in her kitchen creating different kinds of sweet butters with her favorite being honey butter. Mom also loved spending the day watching the birds and squirrels outside of her house and keeping her feeders full. She loved pointing them out and telling you what each one’s personalities were like and their daily adventures in her trees.
She leaves behind her brother, Mike Hommel and his wife Carol. Patti also leaves behind her four beautiful children Kim Kelley, David Johnson, Beau Burt and Shawn Burt. Patti had ten grandchildren- Kayle, Ashley, Brianne, Jessica, Alexis, Coraline, Dylan, Hannah, Joseph and Arden. Patti has six great grandchildren- Noah, Emma, Emmi, Canyon, Aria and Kaden. She also had two loving Daughter-In-Laws- Shannon and Zoey along with Son-In-Law Gregg, and Grand Son-In-Laws Austin, Michael and Tyler.
Mom also had countless friends of her children that she cared for and treated as her own children and who many call her their second Mom.
Patti will truly be missed, her laughter always put smiles on the faces who loved her. Patti lived a beautiful life and as she stated, "I got to do everything I've wanted to do in this life"
