I just found out Patti has passed away. I absolutely loved her. When she was a triage nurse at Doctors Hospital, I was an ER clerk and sat closely by her. I deeply admired how she gave every patient respect, kindness and concern. It. was so very evident how much she loved her family.  And… her beautiful singing voice! 
I am so sorry for all who loved her. Patti was a joy to work with.

It was a very cold rainy night...and I could not figure out why I was there. "The rain will quit very quickly," she said...."you will see." Where are we?.. Well, I do not really know. I only know he comes into the club quite often.  But, why are we here?  At that time Pat handed me a blanket....as we were looking through a knot hole in their fence. Come to find out we were on look-out for someone...never learned who.
Another "experience" with Pat. She got me into more trouble....She talked me into teaching her how to drive. We went up and down the same block when she decided she had enough experience.....she made a hard right taking us through a yard, a ditch, through a shallow creek, and onto the street on the other side. Pat did not know much about small towns, and simply could not figure out how Mother already knew about everything that had happened She just could not figure that out. 
I took Pat to the show on the square. We had a "security" woman (teacher retired) walked the isles. You could not lean back against the chair, talk, eat, visit.....I kept telling Pat to turn around and be quiet. She would not listen....the old woman (security) kept hitting Pat on the head with her 3 foot ruler.  It was a riot.
Several of you questioned Pat being hungry a lot. She was never fed. She and Mike would be left way too long. Pat would try to get food for the, and, Mac would figure food was missing, There would be hell to pay.  It was extreme. I have seen her get beaten up over food, standing in front of a mirror, denied clean clothes, etc.

Mother would let Pat stay at the house a lot to keep her from being hungry.  A hungry child is horrible to watch, and hers bordered on extreme  cruelty. Had Aunt Ruthy not stepped in it would have been so much worse.
I really miss her. She did seem to enjoy all the family. They were funny, loud, and, mischief -self-made. She is with them,and I know they are having a ball.

The two cruises we went on together were so very memorable, was just the best time. We always said we wish we would have started doing cruises a lot sooner. She was in hog haven with all the different foods on the ship, Comedy shows, pools, and dress-up dinners at night.. most of all it had a Casino and boy was she happy. She got up before all of us just to go play some games and had us drop her there before bed. I’m so very thankful for all the memories we had together. Patti, you will be so missed but I know we will see you again and I can’t wait for that hug. I love you so much.

I got the best gift 25 years ago when I said “I do” to my husband David Johnson, I didn’t just get David I got the best mother-in-law ever!  So thankful I got to spend 25 years with this beautiful woman. She use to always tells me the story of when David first met me. Patti would say that David came home that night plopped down on the couch and said “ Mom, I found my soulmate “ and then she would laugh. God, I loved her laugh!!! So blessed to call you my 2nd mom Patti. I love you so very much and my heart just is breaking so bad…

Cotton Patch was her favorite place to eat with us . She loved everything on the menu. She would always order two appetizers and then her meal. Patti lived off the leftovers for days. Lol
Before we ever went out to eat she had to know the place so she could look up the menu😂  I love her, she made me laugh so much. David and Patti always called each other to talk about the meal they made at home each night, comparing who had the best meal. I’m like don’t you guys ever talk about anything other than food? Lol. 

Patti loved going to see action movies with us. She had many boyfriends on screen😂 she loved her popcorn and drink. She was like a kid in the candy store with her popcorn. So many movies we have seen together in 25 years and I will remember them all. Best movie partner ever.

This is the Nana I’ll remember most. She’d spend so much time dying her hair that bright, fiery red color. One of her iconic looks! 

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Even though I wasn't her daughter in law anymore she always made me feel special. She would always give me a hug and tell me how much she loved and respected me everytime she seen me. Hope she knew how much i loved and respected her. She would text just to ask me how I was doing and if there was anything I needed. Patti will forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you "Nana"you will truly be missed.

I was your partner in food crime, you even tricked me at the hospital when I broke you out for a joyride and we went racing down the halls feeling like we were all gonna get caught. You then convinced me to buy you the biggest cheeseburger and fries, again like small children we got up to the room giggling behind our hand over our mouth when the nurse walked in brought your lunch tray and said " ok..lets take your blood sugar, the. lunch time" You looked over at me like a deer with headlights" And said " oh honey I'm just not hungry today. That nurse made you eat that nasty chicken and tasteless food..lmao..you're face mom..I thought you were gonna throw up lol. The nurse left the room and the laughter that filled that ICU floor ,hall and room..

I love you and would do it all over again. I will forever set apart a special seat and plate in my heart just for you! I promise you wont miss out on one taste, I got you! To many more Foodie adventures,
" Best part of all momma is We wont get caught" Lol..Lol 

Mom Patti and My mother Hilda were close friends, two of many of my most beautiful memories of Patti was picking her up for a girl's day and taking them to go get a Braum's Ice cream. She wanted double strawberry on a waffle cone. Patti and mom were like two little girls laughing and so excited, ice cream dripping down their hands and shirt.
 " Moms favorite words were don't tell Beau " I'm  really gonna hear it now, "I even got 3 scoops" It was all worth it mom. And guess what he never said anything lol. That moment, that laughter that I still here today has helped us in the last few days.
