Ora Dell Curtis the fourth child born to the late Allen and Exia Shannon on June 15, 1934 in Waco, Texas. Ora departed this life the morning of November 25, 2017. She graduated early from Lincoln High School June 2, 1950, Bishop College Bachelor of Science August 8, 1971, and Prairie View A & M University of Texas Master’s Degree August 8, 1976. Ora worked hard for over 27 years as a dedicated school teacher, while raising four children. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Ora was preceded in death by two of her children; Charlotte Rice and Elroyce Curtis Jr. parents; Allen and Exis, her oldest sister; Mattie Bailey and oldest brother; Weldon Shannon. She leaves to cherish her memories sons; Eric Curtis and Elton Curtis, sisters; Helen, Gloria, Gertrude and brother Rufus a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved and cherished. Ora will be forever loved, remembered and missed by her sons Eric and Elton.
