Nancy Elaine O’Rourke passed from this life on July 27, 2022 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 67. She entered this world on November 1, 1954 in Dallas, Texas. Nancy was the fifth of eight children born to Joseph Leo O’Rourke. Jr. and Evelyn Betty O’Rourke. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister Angel.
Nancy attended Bishop Lynch High School, Dallas, TX graduating in 1973. She went on to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Nancy was an Administrative Assistant at LTV Aerospace & Defense (Lockheed Martin) for many years. She was also a member of The Irish American Society of Dallas.
Nancy loved to write poetry. Over the years, she wrote over 100 poems. Through the creative descriptions she used, her poems came to life drawing the reader out of everyday life. The imagery of her words painted a visual and emotional picture in one’s mind.

“angel wings”
with every beat of my heart, i whisper your name.
not one moment passes without joy and pain.
when the seasons of my life have all turned to gray,
i pray that the angels gently carry me away.
Her passing has left all her family and friends who so loved her deeply saddened. The memory of her life will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her brother Joe O’Rourke and wife Laurie of Columbia Falls, MT., sister Mary Fishback and husband Bruce of Portland, OR., sister Patricia Sutton and husband Michael of Dallas, TX, brother Michael O’Rourke and wife Cindy of Dallas, TX., brother John O’Rourke and wife Kathleen of Burleson, TX. and sister Sharon O’Rourke of Dallas, TX.
Nancy also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews as well as 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Nancy has donated her earthly remains to medical science at UT Southwestern Medical School. The family will hold a memorial service and burial at a later date at Calvary Hill Cemetery,Dallas,TX.
While Nancy did not have any children of her own, she deeply loved children.
