Minta Udell Burrescia passed away June 28th, 2022 in Fulshear, Texas. She was born March 12th, 1925, in the Gun Barrell, Styx, and Kemp area of Texas to Marion and Cynthia King. She grew up during the co-op era where she picked cotton with her family in order to trade for the opportunity to farm a piece of land to raise food for the family. She attended school in the Styx community area where she loved playing basketball and picked a lot of cotton. With the cotton fields behind her she headed to Dallas where she found work at Sears and eventually met Tony Burrescia.
She was a woman you didn’t want to oppose in a domino match or gamble against because she was one lucky lady! She devoted many years to raising her 5 kids, volunteering at their schools, and cooking everyone hearty Italian meals. She loved talking about the old times, especially the story about meeting Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. She was a religiously devoted woman to her church and an obedient servant to her Lord, Jesus Christ. A woman who believed faith, family, and friends are the most precious treasures to leave behind.
Minta is survived by her 3 sons, Ricky Burrescia, and his wife Laura and their 3 children Kimberly Shaw, Jacob Burrescia, and Shelby Burrescia; Louis Burrescia and his wife Susan; Lawrence Burrescia and his wife Amy; her 2 daughters Annette Burrescia and her sons Kris and Kyle Milberger; Therese Highnote and her husband Joe and their 3 children Jennifer Angel, Wes Highnote, and Sam Highnote; and 11 great grandchildren. Minta is preceded in death by her husband Tony; and her 5 siblings Austin, Kenneth, Alice, Blanche, Ruby, and Josephine.
