She lived in Dallas most of her life and retired from Dobbs House after 36 years of service. She moved to Springtown in 1989 and went to work in the cafeteria for Springtown Elementary School. She worked there for more than 10 years up until the time of the accident. She loved Jesus with all of her heart and the proof can be found in her torn and tattered Bible that she spent countless hours studying. She loved the Texas Rangers and kept up with them until the end. She liked playing cards and dominoes and could beat you even if she was sleeping between turns.
She loved cooking for people and making them feel at home. She was the queen of hospitality. She liked traveling, collecting antiques, horse races, and metal detecting, but mostly she loved her family. She was a devoted mother and cared for her son Ronnie until he passed away in 1987.
She is survived by her son Eddie and wife Kitty of Arkansas, son Monty and wife Sheryl of McKinney, and daughter Mickey Mavridis of Springtown and Leon Mavridis of Weatherford. She is survived by her grandchildren Cindy, Renae, Lauren, Stephen, Emmie, Michelle, Alex, and Rachel, 14 great grandchildren, brothers Walter, Roy and wife Alice, Ted and wife Dale, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son Ronnie, her parents Alvin Brashear and mother Minnie Stogner, brothers Douglas, Roland, Alvin, Homer, JD, Douglas, and her sister Wiley Mae.
