Mildred Carol Demmings (Reed) was born February 01, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Jessie and Lucille Reed. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Greater Memorial Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas where she served on the Usher Board and fellowshipped with the Season Saints. She loved the Lord and her family. Mildred received her formal education in the Dallas Independent School District attending Lincoln High School. She retired from J. W. Marriott as a Short- Order Cook in the early nineties. Mildred enjoyed bingo, cooking, eating cheeseburgers and most of all, a “Coke and a Smile”. She also loved celebrating with her family. She was never too tired to dance with her family and friends at all gatherings. She departed this earthly life on April 16, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jessie and Lucille Reed; granddaughter, Shatera N. Lee; brothers, Roy Reed and Jessie Reed Jr; sisters, Gracie Mae McDaniel, Ida E. Hamilton and Mary Louis Rhodes. She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy: children, Sharon Cobb, Renetta Lee (Gregory), Edward L. Reed, and Shon Stinson (Robert); sisters Rosie Lee Steadham and Christine Henson; brother, William Reed (Doris); grandchildren, Renetta Jones, Sharonda Lee, Brandon Brown (Leslie), Joshua Lee, Robert L. Stinson III, Kaiden Simpson and Kalee S. Reed; great-grandchildren, Emilo Lee, Deyfon Pipkins, Helena Lee, Dexyia Pipkins, Xaria Lee, D’Asia Jones, Jada Jones, Jaylen Lee and Madison Moorer and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.
