Still miss this fun guy.  He was a great neighbor.

You were a "Cool Cat" taken way to early Cuz.

Mickey was a kind and generous neighbor, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Our neighborhood won't be the same without him. We are so sorry he is gone.

I couldn't have asked for a better Uncle than my Uncle Mickey. I have so many great memories of our family trips. My Uncle and my Dad always made sure us Kids hade great adventures. I remember walking the rim of the Grand Canyon, Susan and I taking fake pictures with our toy cameras or hiking in Yellowstone, skiing in Tahoe and many other great camping adventures. I remember my Dad and Uncle Mickey pulling over on a road trip to California and pointing out a magnificent whale in the water and so excited to get us all out of the van to see it and then to realize it was just a rock. We shared im awe for so long at this magnificent whale/ rock and many pictures were taken  before realizing it was a magnificent rock with waves crashing over it. The greatest memories and times that will be most missed are all of the funny stories my Dad and Uncle shared with us by the campfire. One of the funniest is the story they told  of when the two as young boys wanted to fly or something of the sort, and thought it was a great idea to get into a potatoe bag and jump from the roof or tree. The sack string was attached to the tree and when  my Dad or uncle (can't remember which) failed to realize it was a sinching bag and it synched closed to leave him dangling with the bag sinched around the neck. This story of course was told by them laughing about it, but wondering how they survived all of the things they did as kids. I know I will still here those stories, but it will not be the same without his laughter and great story telling skills. Love you Uncle Mickey your stories will forever be with me and continued to be told💞

Mickey was one of those rare individuals that you immediately like upon meeting him.  His contagious smile, brilliant mind, and witty sense  of humor are memories we have, and likely share with many of those that knew him. We join in offering our sympathy to his family and loved ones. Today the world is a little less bright without his presence. Rest in Peace Mickey.

Mickey you were and will always be an amazing friend.  Though we had a very short time together, it was great, really wish we had met earlier.  Will miss you brother.  Love you Brother 

Mickey was my Uncle and I have so many good memories of him during my childhood. When I was little he was always over for weekends for family gatherings. One of the best times was when I was 14 and he took me to my first real concert to see the Eagles. He made it so much fun and special for me. We had such a great time and  I will never forget that day. We had many camping trips and road trips with our families. One summer our family drove out to visit from California and Mickey wanted to surprise Susan so he told us to hide in our motorhome. He brought Susan out and told her he was buying the motorhome but we were inside and we all jumped out. He was always a very fun and sweet person and  I will miss terribly. I am so sad I’m not able to fly out to be there with my family to support my dad and to be able to say goodbye to my Uncle Mickey. I love you  all 💕

Ivone and I will miss Mickey. We will remember our memories of our times together and always cherish his friendship.  His family, especially Maddy, are in our thoughts and prayers.  May he Rest In Peace.  God bless Mickey.

Uncle Mickey was my Great Uncle. I have fond childhood memories with our family spending Thanksgiving and Chiristmas in Tahoe and we was able to be there many times. One time actual bears came to our deck, I was little and afraid and he made me feel safe. He always had a warm demeanor and I only have happy memories of him. I know he also meant a lot to my grandpa, his brother Roy, (Eddie). Eddie used to share stories with me about him and Uncle Micky playing as kids, being super hero’s or flying planes. They were close and he will be missed. Sending love to Maddie, Susan, Lexi, my grandpa and everyone who was close to him.


I knew Mickey only for s few months.  What a sweet soul.  He allowed me to purchase and be the caretaker of his ‘40 Ford Coupe.  It will always be cherished and will be finished in a way that would make him proud.

I'm Bill Dobberpuhl, Mickey's Cousin in California.  My Mom was Mertie Dobberpuhl (Hambrick), Madie's sister.  I only met Mickey once in about 1957 when my family drove from California to Texas.  I remember playing with toy cars with Micky and Eddie (Roy).  It was fun to connect with Mickey over the internet and read about all he accomplished in his life and see pictures of all the the "Cool" cars he had owned.  My Mom used to call Mickey a "Cool Cat."!  I told him that and he sent me a picture of a card he had from the Cool Cat Club!  My sincerest prayers and thoughts to his wife and family. Mickey has been a good friend since we were in the seventh grade at Gaston Jr.Hi. It was always interesting visiting with him and learning new things.  One thing I will never forget how patient he always was. He will surely be missed.

Gentle and wise. We always remember Mickey as the man who hardly ever raised his voice, even in warranted circumstances; incredibly effective at dispensing wisdom; and a heart overflowing with generosity. 

We pray comfort and peace over everyone touched by his passing.
