Michael Lee Paul

Michael Lee Paul, 66, passed away peacefully on November 12th after a short battle with cancer. Michael was born November 6, 1958 in Omaha, NE to Lyle Richard and Marilyn Lavonne (Wehrer) Paul. He was the second oldest of 7 siblings and enjoyed spending time with his family members as often as the opportunity arose.

Michael graduated from Jenks High School in Jenks, OK in 1976. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany until his honorable discharge. Michael enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling.

Michael lived in LeMars, IA for more than 30 years where he raised his daughter Kristina, and son Alex. Michael held many jobs in his lifetime including several in construction, truck driving and truck dispatching. He retired in 2023 and purchased a camper van so he could travel the United States. Sadly, his dream was cut short earlier this year when he was diagnosed with cancer in Phoenix, AZ and he remained there until his death.

Michael is survived by his father Lyle, daughter Kristina Garcia of Omaha, son Alex Paul of Omaha, and 6 siblings Katie Campbell (Eric) of Ennis, TX; John Paul of Long Beach, CA; Betsy Paul (David Vranicar) of Kansas City, MO; Joe Paul (Suzanne) of Southlake, TX; Sam Paul (Jennifer) of Dallas, TX; and Molly Paul (Adolpho Pereira) of New York, NY. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters Sienna and Naya Garcia along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3811 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX followed by a burial at the Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ryan House, 110 W. Muhammad Ali Way, Phoenix, Arizona, 85013.
