Michael Earl Patterson

Born Michael Earl Perry on 4/15/1947 to Peggy Jeane Stansel and baptized on 3/14/1948 at Saint Edwards church Dallas. Peggy married William (Billy) Patterson on 7/7/1950. Later that same year, 11/17/1950, Billy adopted Mike and cared for him as his own. The three of them settled in Wilmer where Mike went to elementary school. In the mid-1950s they relocated to the East Dallas area where Mike then went to James W Fannin and JL Long schools before joining JROTC in high school and graduating from H. R. Crozier Tech in 1966. While in high school he met the love of his life, Mary Kay Roberts but they never married. Mike did later get married to Leslie Kathleen Shields on June 7, 1968 until their divorce in 1970. For most of his working career he worked in the aviation industry at Love Field as a data technician and retired from Aviall Aviation. After retiring and despite suffering from crippling rheumatoid arthritis, he enjoyed going to movies, dancing, listening to music, concerts, visiting family and activities with his nieces and nephews. His faith in God never wavered and his strong passion for the Lord seeped into his everyday life. A family man through and through, Mike touched the lives of others. He is survived by brothers Scott and Randy, sister Becky, cousin Patricia Cherry, and nieces and nephews Jeremy, Christie, Matthew, Justin and Shelby.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
