Michael Matthews was born October 1943 in Baytown, TX to Charley Matthews and Ruth (Taylor) Matthews. He was married to his wife Juanita (Hernandez) Matthews for 41 years.
He enjoyed singing, bowling and was an avid bridge player. He was a wonderful gentle big guy who was kind, caring, charming and never met a stranger. He will be terribly missed.
Michael Matthews leaves behind his wife, Juanita, daughters, Stephanie Matthews, Melody Sites and Tammy Steele, Sisters, Melody (Matthews) Smith, Lisa (Matthews) Ratliff, 7 grandchildren’s, 18 great grand children, in-laws, Linda (Hernandez) and Nick Campos, Irma (Hernandez) and Clarence Thompson, Yolanda (Hernandez) and Jesus Chapa, Jimmy and Norma Hernandez, Joel and Angie Hernandez, Gloria (Hernandez) and Don Hobson. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, sister and brother.
